Twenty-four year old SharnMacer has spent the last six years looking for love….for that spark. She’s failing miserably. After a life changing break up forces her back to her broken home, and into a string of dating disasters, Sharn decides it’s time to hang up her heels and take a break from guys.
She didn’t expect to find the spark… with the quiet guy from her past.

Keefer Smith likes to keep to himself, always has and probably always will. He doesn’t have time to date, not when he’s constantly worrying about what state he’ll find his father in. Lucky for him, he does have one thing going for him; baseball.
He didn’t expect to want more… with the girl he once watched from afar.

Back in high school, Sharn would never have looked twice at someone like him, and Keefer would’ve never stood a chance with someone like her. But six years is a long time, and when they find themselves placed in charge of seventeen ninth graders they soon realize they might not be as different as they think. The chemistry is right, even if the timing is all wrong.

Sparks will fly, but will they spark love?

excerpt

The Lounge was crammed. Friday nights were always full of students, but it was the best club for a more chilled out vibe. It had two rooms; a bar area and a dance area, then there was a huge covered courtyard. After navigating the queue at the bar, I managed to get us drinks. We wound our way through the crowds of drunken, rowdy college kids, and found an empty sofa at the far end of the courtyard. Sharn’s body moved in time to the music, and from how natural she made it looked, I could tell she liked to dance—something I never did.

“It’s really busy.” Her words sounded a little slurred.

“Are you drunk? You only had two glasses of wine with dinner.” I mocked. I’d switched to soda after a couple of beers—I was driving.

“I am not!” She gasped. “I’m just excited. I don’t get out all that much.”

“What about your friend? The girl I saw you with at 42nds?”

She turned her body slightly to face me. “Mae? We work together, and have a Friday night ritual. She’s married though.”

My eyes glanced over her neck and chest, lingering over her low cut dress. I could just make out the curve of her tits.

“Hey.” She snapped her fingers in front of my nose. “My face is here, mister.”

Busted.

“I can’t help where my eyes decide to look. Did you blow off your Friday night ritual with Mae, for me?”

She blushed again, and my inner guy punched the air—I affected her as much as she affected me. “Maybe. Hmm-” She hesitated, as if she wanted to ask me something. My stomach pooled with dread.

“Can I ask you something? Where did you go last weekend?”

Fuck. It would be so easy to tell her the truth—to let her in. But I choked, unable to do it. I didn’t want to ruin the night—to see the pity in her eyes. I didn’t want her to feel sorry for me. So I played the game I’d been playing from the start. Leaning forward, I dipped my head and swept her hair away from her shoulder with my hand. As I brushed my lips against the soft spot underneath her ear, she trembled and I whispered, “Not tonight. I’ll tell you, but not tonight.”

She let out a breathy sign as I curved my arm around her waist and pulled her body flush to mine. Our lips found each other’s, and I knew. This was it for me. She was it. But she still knew nothing about me, and that scared the shit out of me. I had to tell her. And soon. Or I’d lose her. Someone like Sharn wouldn’t play games for long.

Book Title: Bad Boys Need Love Too
Author: Christa Tomlinson
Genre: GLBT Erotic Romance
Release Date: October 2014

Synopsis

“You won’t let anybody else have you, Joseph. I won’t let anybody else have you. I want you all to myself.” – Gage Mason

We’ve all had our experience with him. The Bad Boy. The one we’ve been warned about. The one with rips in his jeans and a lazy, devil may care smile on his mouth. The one who makes you do bad things that feel so good.

For me it was Gage Mason. We met when he worked on my Ducati. I knew immediately he was trouble, but something about that Bad Boy drew me in. Maybe it’s his dark eyes that study me like he wants to know everything about me. Maybe it’s the way he makes me feel; the rough touch of his hands, his possessive grip on my hair when we kiss, the way he feels deep inside me. Or maybe it’s the way he needs me, even though he won’t admit it.

For once in my life I’m taking a risk. Despite everything that tells me I shouldn’t, I’m taking a chance to be with Gage. I don’t know if it will end well, but I do know I can’t resist that Bad Boy.

Joseph Naderi

excerpt

A few minutes after seven o’clock, Gage rang the bell to Joseph’s townhouse. He looked around the area as he waited for him to answer the door. The place was nice and well-kept, but bland. It fit in more with the suit side of Joseph rather than the ponytail and motorcycle side of him. He wasn’t sure if he liked it or not. The door opened and an immediate wave of arousal washed over Gage. Joseph was dressed more casually than he’d ever seen him. His hair was in a sloppy ponytail with messy tendrils escaping randomly. He had on a t-shirt with the logo of a band he didn’t recognize, and his frayed and washed out jeans sat low, really low, on his hips. The tattered hems of the jeans covered half of his bare feet. Gage decided he didn’t care what the house looked like. If it let Joseph be this at ease, then he liked it.

Joseph smiled at Gage before stepping back to let him in. “Hey. You find the place okay?”

“Yeah. It was a pretty straight shot over here from the shop.”

Joseph discreetly inhaled as Gage passed him. He’d obviously just gotten out of the shower. The clean scent of the ocean was on his skin and his hair was still wet and slicked back. The man smelled good and looked even better. He noticed Gage watching him. Joseph cleared his throat, hoping he hadn’t been too obvious checking him out. “The game’s already on. I can grab us a couple of beers and then show you around if you want before we watch.” Gage didn’t say anything so Joseph took that as agreement and went into the kitchen.

Joseph grabbed two beers out of the fridge and took them over to the counter. He heard Gage’s footsteps come into the kitchen as he set the beers down to look for a bottle opener. “I hope Shiner is okay. I like to drink local beers,” he said without turning around. But again Gage didn’t answer. His footsteps came closer and Joseph went still as he came up behind him. Gage brushed his ponytail aside and trailed his lips over the back of his neck before he whispered into his ear.

“I don’t want to watch baseball.” Gage’s hand closed over his, moving it away from the bottle. “I don’t want a fucking beer.” That same hand drifted up his arm, raising goose bumps on his skin before it slid under his shirt to caress his belly. “You already know it, but I’m telling you that I want you.” Joseph gasped as Gage’s hand slid down to the waistband of his jeans, popping them open. The zipper went down, one slow metallic rasp at a time.

“So you tell me right now if you don’t want this to happen.”

Joseph could barely control his breathing as Gage’s hand slipped inside his jeans to tease his growing erection.

“Otherwise, I’m gonna be deep inside you within the next fifteen minutes.”

Gage squeezed his cock and Joseph moaned, pushing his ass back against the hardness he felt behind him. Gage groaned and licked his neck.

“Maybe sooner. What’s it gonna be, Joseph?”

Joseph took a moment to answer. Not because he was unsure, but because Gage’s fingers on his shaft, and his body heat against his skin, and that voice in his ear had his brain a little bit scrambled. “No baseball. I want you.”

excerpt

“You’re even more beautiful than I imagined,” he whispered.

His hungry gaze bathed her with warmth. Clearly, he wanted her more than he ever had. Telling him she’d experienced poverty earlier must have been the magic words. Ever since, he’d looked at her as if they were on the same team…as if they could have a relationship. But why? What difference did her background make?

Her thighs trembled in response to his heated stare, anticipating the sensation of his tongue on her folds. Instead of lowering his head, though, he looked away, shaking it.

“Am I really doing the right thing?” he asked. “I can justify it by saying I’m giving you pleasure, but I can’t help getting pleasure out of it as well.”

Kyra’s jaw tightened as she cupped a palm over her cleft to hide it. “Justin, this back and forth business is driving me crazy. A little pleasure isn’t going to make the world end.”

“The Rasta way of life is important to me,” he said. “I have to stay true to my faith every minute of every day, not just when I feel like it.”

She sighed. “I respect that. Hand me my pants so I can get dressed.”

Instead, he lowered his head. His blue eyes, clear with his decision, sought hers on the way down. Apparently, he planned to continue. A shiver of anticipation she couldn’t have suppressed if she’d wanted to coursed through her.

“Yes, Justin, yes,” she whispered. “It’s all right.”

He kissed the insides of her thighs first, as gently as he’d massaged her feet earlier. His slight beard brushed her tender skin, igniting icy-hot flames everywhere it touched. Devon used to take her fast and hard. Foreplay was usually as compressed as his busy schedule. Closing her eyes and surrendering to the titillating sensations, she wished Justin had been her first lover.

Maybe her only lover.

He gripped the undersides of her thighs and the bed squeaked as he shifted position. He must mean business. Perspiration broke out across her forehead and she opened her eyes. If he changed his mind, she swore she’d scream.

“I want to feel your hair…on me,” she demanded.

Where had that come from?

Without questioning her strange request, he gripped one of his locks and held it in front of his face with reverence. “Do you

know what the dreadlocks signify, Kyra?”

They signify something hot and sexy I want on my body. Now!

“They stand for everything natural and good. No scissors, combs, styling gadgets, or dye touches them. According to the Rasta faith, those things are the work of Babylon.”

Babylon must be the name of her hairdresser because her hair was cut, straightened, and highlighted. Before she could reply, he grasped the end of one lock and brushed it across her mound. It probably went without saying that her bikini wax was also up Babylon’s alley. She watched, breathless, as his hair mingled with the scanty tuft of hers.

Then he lowered the tantalizing lock, brushing it across her clit. She cried out as each of his silky hairs brushed her nerve endings. How could the man be so spiritual one minute and scorching hot the next? The combination was more potent than fire and gasoline.

This song embodies the Jamaican reggae flavor of the hero and setting. Bob Marley was my inspiration and muse for writing the story.

-This Woman’s Work by Maxwell

I pretty much had this song on an endless loop while writing the end of the book. The emotional tone matched perfectly, and struggling to make a relationship work is the theme of all romances.

Not only is this song romantic and sensual, its lyrics show how the physical can connect to the divine, which I really explored in this novel.

excerpt

“Well. This is . . . quaint.” Eric pushes open the room door to the one and only place to stay here in the village.

I told you. Eric is a total politician since the room we’re standing in is a complete broom closet. The good thing is there’s absolutely no one around and we have the place to ourselves. So, we rented out four rooms. I think the owners of this ‘quaint’ little place were a bit stunned, and completely happy to hand over the keys to half of their rooms.

“Isn’t it though?” I murmur. All I can think of is how thin the walls are. Somehow I doubt Sam and I will have any privacy, which sucks (pun intended) because feeding from Sam definitely makes me . . .

“Ana?”

I clear my throat as Sam laughs quietly. “Yes, Emily?”

“Have you heard from Amanda?”

“Yes. Assuming Tania is on her way here, they’re about thirty minutes out. Why don’t you two get some sleep? We’ll need to keep eyes on Tania at all times unless she ends up bunking down somewhere.”

Eric and Emily nod, and Sam and I leave them to go to the farthest room away.

Sam pushes the door close and backs me up against it. “Feeding from me makes you what?” he asks gruffly.

“I’m pretty sure you know.”

“I want to hear you say it.”

“Well I don’t!”

Amanda’s voice in my ear startles me so much I jump the entire distance of the room. Okay, it’s only like ten feet, but still.

“Damn it, Amanda!” I put my hand over my heart. If I had any doubts that I had a beating heart before, I certainly don’t now.

“It’s not my fault you left the line open! And I certainly don’t want to hear what goes on between you and my brother!”

“Do you have any updates?” The question comes out harsher than I meant for it to, but she interrupted a nice moment that could have turned into really nice moments.

“Don’t get all grumpy with me. At least you have someone to do stuff with that shouldn’t be done over an open line.”

I open my mouth to respond, then close it again. She’s right. Amanda finally got her crush to ask her out, and I totally ruin it for her by recruiting her to the Society.

“Sorry.”

There’s an awkward silence, and then a soft clearing of a throat.

“According to Jenna’s search, Tania’s friend’s name is Monica McKinney. Nothing scandalous to report about her. She’s twenty-four and works for a bank. She’s been there since she graduated from high school. No arrests, no tickets. She’s an all-around Pollyanna as far as anyone can tell. Jenna says she can hack into her Facebook to see who her friends are, but I doubt that would help us much. They’re definitely on their way there. We are close to your village.”

“It’s not my village anymore, Amanda,” I inform her gently.

“Ana, a part of you will always be there.”

I ignore that, and move on with the conversation. “Tell Jenna good job on the search. Do you think Buffy and Willow will visit with the Priestess tonight or find a place to sleep for the night?”

As soon as the question is out of my mouth, I realize that the only place they can sleep is right here where we are. Unless, of course, they know someone in the village. If that’s the case, we may get names of some of the other players.

“I’m hoping they sleep, ’cause I’m tired as hell.”

I can hear the weariness in Amanda’s voice, and it makes me cringe. I need to remember that my Hunters need to rest. Rest, eat, train. It’s a simple thing to remember. Why I’m having such a hard time with it, who the hell knows?

“Sam and I will meet you and take over. You guys come back to the motel and sleep.”

“We can stick it out until she . . . “

“No, Amanda. Eric and Emily are sleeping. You guys need to as well. Tell me how far out you are and we’ll take over the tail as you pass by.”

“Is that an order?” Amanda asks haughtily.

“Yes, Ms. Crabby Pants, it is. If you’re giving me this attitude, you will only get worse the longer you’re awake. I don’t need that crap.” I make sure I put enough teasing in my voice where she knows I’m kidding with her. At least I hope she does.

“Fine, Selene. We’re about twenty minutes out, coming in on the main road.”

I chuckle at my ‘handle’. “We’ll be out there, hidden. I’ll signal you when we see you. They may head in our direction since this is the only place to sleep around here. If that’s the case, Sam and I will keep watch. If not, we will continue on with them and contact you after you’ve gotten some sleep.”

“Can we be sure you and Sam won’t be . . . “

“Yes!” I laugh. “We can control ourselves, you know.”

“Sure you can. And Jenna doesn’t pop her damn gum.”

“Whatever,” I laugh. “I have much more self-discipline than blondie. It’s really too bad Buffy was taken. Jenna fills that to a tee.”

I hear Amanda telling Jenna what I said. “She’s giving you a hand gesture. I’ll leave it to your imagination what gesture it is. Now get going or you’re not going to make it.”

“Yes ma’am.”

The window behind her gave a spectacular view. How appropriate he thought, to be a full moon tonight, the apex of one of nature’s unstoppable cycles. More or less fifteen days ago the new moon was born to culminate in the spectacle tonight. Light spilled into the ink like darkness, guiding the way, holding out a glitter of hope for those unfortunate enough to find themselves in night’s somber embrace. For him, Mercy was that light.

Reluctant to leave the room he turned, the candles still burning in his lair needed tending to. What did that say about his feelings? Doubt crept in, was it even possible? After only a week? The tightness in his chest said yes, his mind wasn’t so sure. He’d already bound her to him by his collar, and had taken her bareback marking her as his with his seed, but this feeling, this one now felt very close to love. His hand rubbed at his chest subconsciously, he didn’t know how to mark her with that.

Candles Burning

The words scorched her, rekindling the desire simmering beneath her skin hotter than ever. His detailing the possession of each part of her body, and his intention to devour and claim, to worship and cherish, melted the protection she carefully erected around her heart. She wanted the connection with him now, for him to take from her everything she offered, to lose herself to the blistering pleasure only he showed her.

excerpt

CHAPTER ONE

OLIVIA

I stared at the lifeless body on the floor, thinking about the blood seeping into the wood and staining it. It would be impossible to clean. The wooden floorboards would have to be replaced.

The gun I had just fired, fell from my hand. The clattering noise it made as it hit the ground startled me out of my skin. The sight of the gun, lying in a puddle of blood, and the metallic scent invading my senses made me tremble. Maybe I was going into shock. My mind raced, trying to figure out what I should do next, but I couldn’t think of anything.

Other than calling him.

After six years, I had truly believed I was free from my past. I had been sure he would never be a part of my life again. After all, he had made that choice. But with a bleeding body on my floor, it seemed that facing him would be inevitable.

I took a slow step back, away from the blood pooling near my feet, only to stumble over my purse that still lay where I had left it when I entered my apartment. Keys, my chipped powder compact, three nickels and a quarter, an uncapped pen I’d borrowed from the bank, and my phone skidded out across the floor. Entranced, I watched as my pink lipstick tube rolled over to the door. The sudden urge to cry, and scream, welled up in my throat. I sank to my knees and reached for my phone—it had fallen near the couch. I cringed at the sight of the dark blotches on the couch’s white fabric. In the daylight, they would be splashes of deep, sticky red. I swallowed the lump in my throat, picked up my phone, and scrolled down the contact list. My thumb hovered over the word ‘HIM’.

I hesitated.

Swallowed again.

Then, I pressed the dial button. It rang once.

“What’s wrong?” he answered on the first ring.

I whimpered at the sound of his smoothly calm voice—a voice that had haunted me for years. I briefly listened to his breathing, wondering how he knew that I needed him. I shook my head and bit back a dejected laugh. Of course he knew. I wouldn’t be calling unless it was a matter of life or death.

“Someone was here,” I whispered, as if not to startle the corpse. My voice sounded raspy, and thick with unshed tears. For the most part, up until this point, I had actually impressed myself by not freaking out. Now my well-crafted façade was cracking. I could hear his breathing quicken slightly.

“Are you all right?”

I soaked in the alarm in his voice, letting it wrap me up like a balm to a sting. I closed my eyes, and willed my voice to sound firm. “You need to send a crew,” I said.

“Fuck… cleaners?” he asked letting out a heavy breath.

I nodded. After a moment, I realized I hadn’t actually answered. “Yes, I’m in Chicago… in my apartment on the corner of—”

“I know where you live. Sit tight. Tiny will be there in no time—”

I hung up, not strong enough to listen to his voice any longer. Sitting on the floor, I dropped the phone in another loud clatter, and brought my knees to my chest. I wasn’t startled or even fully conscious of the continuous vibrating of my phone. It just danced in the dark, dangerously close to the pool of blood. I watched it, lost in thought of how naïve I’d been. I should’ve known the past would catch up to me—he would always catch up with me.

Closing my eyes, I let a sliver of happiness creep up inside.

I would see Tiny again.

The happiness lasted just until I remembered why I would see him again and was replaced by a sharp pain in my chest. I looked over at the dead body once more and shivered, the sickeningly sweet metallic scent of blood churned my stomach. It was unbearable. I started dry heaving uncontrollably and leaned on my hands for support. I hadn’t eaten all day so there was nothing my body could purge itself of, save for the acid burning the back of my throat.

When the dry heaving stopped, I sat back and wrapped my arms around my legs. Leaning my forehead on my arms, I made myself breathe through my mouth. I didn’t want to smell it anymore. And, I was pretty good at convincing myself if I couldn’t see or smell it, it didn’t exist. So, I sat there, rocking myself in the dark, repeating four words like a mantra.

He can fix this.

It might have been a few minutes, or hours, before I heard the front door creak open. Although I was in plain sight, I couldn’t make myself move from my position. The door opened, but I didn’t raise my head. I heard several pairs of footsteps treading the floor almost imperceptibly as they invaded my home.

“Clear,” several voices said at the same time.

“Stand guard. We’re coming down in a few,” Tiny’s deep voice called out from the door. The men moved around, while Tiny approached me. He took a couple of steps and came to an abrupt stop.

“You left the door unlocked.” His tone was harsh, accusatory.

Truthfully, I hadn’t even considered the possibility that someone else might come to finish the job.

I could sense Tiny’s stare on me. After a moment, he spoke.

“Fuck,” he said.

I looked up to him now, but I knew he was looking at the man beside me. I followed his gaze and then averted my eyes. I sniffled, not realizing until then that I had been crying. Straining, I fixed my eyes on Tiny’s perfectly polished patent leather shoes that shone even in the dark.

“Are you okay?” he asked, kneeling down in front of me. His words had an almost affectionate undertone, something rare for him.

I couldn’t help the giggle that escaped. Was I okay? Hardly. No. I raised my eyes to his. I unlocked my arms, and wiped my tear-stained face with my hands.

He frowned.

“I’m fine,” I said before nodding towards the body. “But that’s going to leave a stain.”

Tiny chuckled, and shook his head lightly.

I couldn’t help the slight upward curling of my lips, despite the horror I just went through. I had lived by so many rules, for so many years that even now, as an adult, I couldn’t help the impulse to follow them. Everything needed to be clean and in perfect order. I shouldn’t be too loud. Speak too much. Attract any attention.

And, I certainly shouldn’t have a dead body on my floor.

“Come on, Lou. Let’s get you out of here,” he said as he took my hand and pulled me to my feet.

I frowned. No one had called me Lou in years, these days I went by Livi.

I didn’t fight him; I needed to get out of there. “My purse,” I said, looking down at the black leather bag whose contents were still spilled all over the floor. It was truly absurd to worry about something so trivial after all that had just happened, but old habits died hard. Really hard. And that was my favorite lipstick.

“I’ll take care of it,” Tiny said. He placed his hand between my shoulder blades and pushed me gently towards the door.

I suddenly panicked.

“No,” I said, shaking my head.

“We need to go, now.” Tiny pushed again, urging me to move, but my feet remained glued in place.

“I-I can’t leave like this, I have to pick up my things,” I said turning around. My eyes watered at the sight of the mess in front of us.

“Don’t worry about it,” Tiny said, now grabbing my arm. I shook my head again and tried to pull out of his grasp, but he didn’t let go.

“I need to clean up, I’ll probably have to bleach the—”

“Lou!” Tiny said while grasping my shoulders and forcefully turning me to look at him. “Snap out of it.”

That’s when I freaked out.

My whole body started trembling uncontrollably and my breathing hitched. I chewed the inside of my cheek to try to stop myself from crying, but when I bit too hard and tasted the metallic tang of blood, my tears spilled over. A sob escaped me. I covered my mouth with me hands, startled by my reaction.

“Damn it,” Tiny said, shaking me slightly. “You need to calm down.”

I closed my eyes, inhaling and exhaling slowly, ignoring the taste in my mouth. When I felt in control again, I opened my eyes.

“Are you good?” Tiny asked. I nodded. He looked at me doubtfully, so I wiped my face and breathed in deeply again before answering.

“I’m good,” I said.

“Okay, then let’s get you the fuck out of here.”

This time when he guided me, I followed his lead. A man stood guard at the door, but I hardly looked at him. I just saw the bloody mess everywhere. Thankfully, Tiny helped me down the two flights of stairs otherwise I would have crumbled. He stepped outside first, his body tense, prepared to attack any other assassin. Then, he turned back to me and waved me forward.

Slowly, I stepped into the cold night.

Another man in a black suit stood just outside the entrance. There were four black SUVs with tinted windows parked in front of us with men standing guard in front of them. They had come like an army intent on making a statement—Don’t fuck with us.

The sight of them brought back my most painful memories. I hesitated, but Tiny pushed me forward. He walked with purpose, hovering over me.

With Tiny, there was never time for uncertainty. He opened the door and carefully, but firmly, helped me inside the car. The driver stood beside his own door, intently scanning the surroundings, and looked up at Tiny’s approach.

“I gotta go clean up. Liam will follow you,” Tiny said to the driver. Turning towards me, he added, “Tate will take care of you.”

“Where is he taking me?” I asked before he could shut the door. Noticing the panic in my own voice, my eyes glazed over in shame; I didn’t want him to see how scared I was of his answer.

“Home.”

The way he said it left no room for arguing. Still, I opened my mouth.

“But—”

“This is not up for discussion,” Tiny said.

I nodded, resigned, as he closed the door behind me.

Tate started the car. I didn’t know him, and his grave face was not reassuring. He glanced a final time at the rearview mirror, and drove off. I turned around and noticed that one of the other cars was following us. That must have been Liam—whoever that was. I still couldn’t believe Tiny had left me alone with a stranger. His size alone made me nervous, and the fact that he hadn’t spoken to me yet was unnerving. Tate was almost too big for the interior of the car, even though he was still not as large a man as Tiny. The driver’s seat was shoved all the way back, squeezing my legs awkwardly into a twisted, painful position. When I decided to slide over to the other side, Tate broke the silence.

“Keep your head down,” was all he said.

My head snapped up to look at him through the rearview mirror. He didn’t meet my gaze.

“I will, but I need to move because you’re crushing me,” I said through clenched teeth. Tate didn’t react.

I started pulling at the buckle of the seat belt, trying to release it, but my hands trembled too much. I finally let go, defeated by the device.

When I looked back up, I noticed Tate smirking. He was a real charmer. I sighed and decided to stay put and suffer through the numbness in my legs. We finally merged onto the almost deserted I-94 highway. I didn’t want to think about what would happen next, and tried to distract myself from those thoughts by examining Tate. He had broad shoulders and, beneath his suit, I knew he would be all hard muscle. I took in his blond hair and brooding eyes, color unknown in the dark, and startled when I noticed his gaze fixed on mine.

I was embarrassed to have been caught staring at him, and offered a small smile as apology. His eyes narrowed slightly. My heart sped up, though I couldn’t identify the emotion. My brain seemed to freeze in that moment, unable to process any more information.

I closed my eyes and breathed in and out several times, just like my therapist had told me to do when I felt a panic attack coming. Slowly, I calmed myself enough to open them again.

Tate was no longer looking at me.

Relieved, I stared out the window as we sped through the city. My thoughts travelled to the past.

This wasn’t the first time I had killed someone.

Six years ago, I had watched a man bleed out on a cold floor while I cried helplessly. The memory of that night was my own private nightmare; a nightmare I thought would only ever repeat itself in my dreams.

I was wrong.

It was six years ago all over again.

BLOG TOUR and 5* Review No Time for Secrets by Liz Borino

Three years after his family’s Secrets in the Air rocked Rhett O’Neil’s world, they crash it down – with disastrous consequences.
With the FBI missions expanding overseas and Kaden leaving his job, Rhett and his grandfather agree – despite reservations – to give Annabelle the chance to take a more active role in the charter airline business. Unfortunately, a bird strike prevents the successful completion of her test flight.
After Rhett ditches near a deserted island, the family must survive against the elements, and each another. Innocent mistakes jeopardize the life of one of their own, leaving No Time for Secrets.

Five Fabulous Stars once again!

I want to just start out by saying I love Liz and love her characters even harder!!  Once again we are thrust into the high flying lifestyle of Rhett and his grandfather but this time with the added element of his long lost sister Annabelle and her son in the mix.

We revisit them some time after the end of the last book and it seems on the face of things that life for them all is settling down nicely.  Until Annabelle drops a suggestion regarding their “off the books” flying.

Without spoiling the story Annabelle had me in knots for a lot of the story and it took be until the end to understand just who or what she was!  Rhett and Kaden are still as uber sweet as before and honestly melted me just a little bit every time they were together! Rhett really came into his own in this story and Kaden just amazed me with his resilience and bravery!

Pop and Martha are hilarious and keep the young ones on their toes!  Pop seriously needs a few lessons in romance though!

This has been yet another fantastic book and such a gripping read.  I seriously wanted to strangle Annabelle at times and Donnie too!

Loved the ending though and it will leave you with a sense of everything is ok in the world once again but its not an easy ride to get there.  Be prepared to be gripped, annoyed, wooed, sad and happy all in one!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this series and if I could rate this higher than five it would be off the scale!

At ten a.m., Rhett wrapped his arms around Kaden and rested his
head on his shoulder as they stood outside the plane laughing and asked, “You
aren’t tired, are you?”

“Not dangerously so.” Rhett offered the best honest answer he could.

Kaden pressed their lips together. “I guess that’s at least partly my fault.”

“Partly?” Rhett joked back. “You kept me busy past the time we were supposed to go to sleep.”

“Hey, I was ready to sleep, but you had other ideas. Then you woke me up earlier than we planned.” Kaden nibbled on Rhett’s earlobe as he spoke.

Rhett laughed harder, fully aware that Kaden had no complaints about their midnight or early morning activities. Nevertheless, he swatted his husband away. “People are around, and you can’t finish what you’re starting.”

Before Kaden could respond, Pop and Martha came out of the airport. “Really, boys, you can’t keep your hands off each other a few hours?” Martha asked.

“The flight’s three hours, so we’ll have to,” Rhett responded. “But four hours?
That’s wrong and unnecessary.”

“My mistake.” She pecked Pop’s cheek. “I’ll see you on board. Fly safely, Rhett.”  “Always.”

He waited for her to board and regarded Pop. “I haven’t seen Annabelle and Donnie, have you?”

Pop smiled at him. “It must be rather difficult to keep track of your sister and nephew with your face stuck to Kaden’s, but no, I have not.”
