M S Parker is just phenomenal. I have loved every series of hers so far and the time we encounter a really steamy affair of sorts between Bree, the jilted bride with low self esteem and little experience versus the sexual goliath of Cade, the escort with a whole wealth of experience with women. A simple agreement is made between them after their first encounter, an encounter that isn’t wholly explained to Bree beforehand. Cade knows his way around a woman, how to show her pleasure beyond any she has experienced before and he is also a man. Can he teach Bree everything he knows and make her able to date and have a meaningful relationship once again.
Bree was pretty well dumped and you can’t help but feel sorry for her throughout the entire series. At every turn she ends up being knocked further, with the exception of the times she spends with Cade. He exudes a certain opera over her that she can’t explain and although the arrangement is supposed to be strictly professional, you can see cracks appearing in her feelings for Cade as the series progresses. She is pretty aware consistently that this is nothing but a business arrangement but cannot help but feel that some of Cade’s actions aren’t truly “strictly Business” even if he doesn’t himself realise he may be heading into unknown territory. His mixed signals and persistence really add to the intrigue of their arrangement.
Cade comes across as an experienced yet detached character who certainly knows how to press all of Bree’s buttons. The concept of him “teaching” her everything he knows about seduction and being comfortable with her own body physically and sexually was perhaps the first sign that 5* emotions may well have met his match with Bree. Each instalment brings further revelations about him and I especially liked that each book is written in Bree’s perspective with one solitary short chapter at the end giving us all a hint of what Cade is thinking, and not all if it is what you want to hear!
I love the chemistry that is undoubtedly alive between the characters from the get go. This series has been a particular change for me too because of the fact that you know that they are in a business relationship and that t here isn’t a possibility of HEA, especially when Cade does what he does for a living and seems to be so devoid of emotion beyond a business deal. Each instalment had me wanting more and I HIGHLY recommend this series, especially if you are a fan of M S Parkers!
