HollysBook

SYNOPSIS

Holly James is trying to move on with her life, but it’s not easy. She can’t stand to be touched by anyone, not even her own family. She is a lost broken shell of the person that she used to be. She realizes that shutting everyone out is much easier then opening up and letting someone hurt her.

Drew Walker is no prince charming. He doesn’t care about anyone but himself and has no intention of changing. He loves the life of excitement and entitlement that comes with being the lead singer of a band, and has no plans to get tied down anytime soon.

When these two meet there is an immediate chemistry. The thing that surprises Holly is that she can tolerate his touch. He makes her feel like herself once again and gives her the freedom and comfort she has been desperate to find. On the other hand he is self-centered, egotistical, and everything that she should stay away from.

What happens when the one person who can save you might also be the person who can break you?

“There was something about Drew, but I had no idea what it was. He was self-centered, cocky, and definitely not prince charming. Maybe that’s why I liked him though. Maybe I didn’t want to be saved by the handsome prince. Maybe I wanted to be corrupted by the evil king.”

**Breaking Free is for mature audiences only—strong language, and explicit sexual content are apparent.**

review

OMG I LOVED this book! It was one of those books that you need to make sure you clear your schedule for because you will not be able to put this down!! And Drew…… well lets just say I NEED MORE!! He’s such an arrogate arse but you can’t help liking him!

The basis of the story is Holly, the female lead, who has a lot of crap she’s dealing with and has a real hatred of with people touching her. She craves normality and you get a deep sense of her desperation to be her old self. Then she meets Drew, the lead singer of a popular band and immediately the sexual chemistry is ignited and surprisingly for her, she is able to tolerate him touching her.

The roller coaster ride that this book takes you on will have you laughing, crying, getting frustrated but also getting a little hot under the collar with the sexual chemistry between the main characters. I love the writing style too and felt within a few short pages so drawn into the story. Drew sees the sadness in Holly and although he has man sized issues of his own, he wants to help her. Her issues cause problems of their own and her anxiety is dreadful at points, scaring Drew as well as you the reader too. Drew needs help as much as Holly but in different ways and you do feel that at times things are just not going to work out and that the issues they both have are just too much but you end up rooting for them too.

There is an array of supporting characters all of whom develop the story well and add depth to the leading characters too. I seriously felt for Carter, Holly’s brother, too!

I want to and could seriously go on for hours about this book but I don’t ant to spoil it for anyone wanting to read it! It is a fantastic stand alone and although a reasonably speedy yet really involved read. I’d love to hear a bit more about Drew though and his history. I will definitely be reading more by Alexis and highly recommend this to you!
