A Novel by SC Ellington
Releases 5th August 2014
I was so glad to have this to dive right into after Unsettled because it would have eaten me up to not know immediately what would happen with both Brooklyn and Logan!
One of the main things I liked about this book is that we get an inside look at Logan as this is written in dual perspectives. We get to know him more and a lot more about his demons and past too.
Logan will do anything to get Brooklyn back. He has fallen hard and has to work through his own past to get to where he needs to be for Brooklyn.
Brooklyn however is a harder nut to crack and I get that she has had a difficult time with one break up but to be honest her reluctance to trust Logan again and open up to him was a tad difficult for me!
Although this book does continue Brooklyn’s story it is very much focused on Logan and his past. There is one particularly emotional scene with his father and I will admit to shedding a couple of tears. We get to know a lot more about the Colton family dynamics and also get to meet Logan’s best friend Trevor too.
This story really develops and all the threads finally come together. But will Logan truly get over his issues and can Brooklyn trust again? You HAVE to read to find out!!!!
I think this was a great sequel though and the fact you really get to see a lot of the important scenes from the last book from Logan’s perspective really made this a worthy read. Plus add to that more Logan and his amazing and sweet character too and it makes for a fab sequel!
Another fab four stars from me!

Unsettled (book #1) is on Sale
After a horrific breakup with her long-time boyfriend, Brooklyn Caldwell is completely disenchanted with the notion of mingling with the opposite sex. Damon Williams had been everything she thought she wanted…until he wasn’t.
In an attempt to escape her heartbreaking past, Brooklyn seeks refuge in bustling Washington DC where she folds into the fast paced society unnoticed…until she meets a young entrepreneur, Logan Colton.
Brooklyn is surprised to find that while she has been successful in keeping the opposite sex at bay, somehow she is defenceless against Logan’s confidence and charm—and it doesn’t hurt that he is absurdly beautiful. While thrilled with Logan’s candour, Brooklyn hesitates, as she can’t seem to move past the heartache that she suffered at the hands of Damon.
As much as Logan didn’t plan on pursuing her, he is drawn to Brooklyn’s muted beauty and her witty persona. For all his success, Logan is ensnared in the coveted world of unequivocal wealth and power, but behind closed doors is taunted by demons and an undeniable need to atone for a monumental mistake.
As the two embark on a tumultuous obstacle course saturated with unknown twists and turns, Brooklyn is left to question whether she can endure the journey ahead.
Well that was a read and a half – especially because he ending just left me hanging!!! Fortunately for me I’m reading this as part of a blog tour for Surrounded but I must admit I’m really a bit on the fence with them!!!
We meet Brooklyn a while after a breakup and she is just drifting through life and obviously not happy at all with her lot. Her besties and room-mates Alex and Jay do their best to keep her afloat but its not until she meets Logan by chance.
The will she won’t she dance that Brooklyn does regarding Logans persistent advances makes for an interesting storyline and one that develops into a nice fledgling romance. Its not a love at first sight kind of romance and Logan certainly had to work hard to get what he wants. However, just as you get a real sense of things turning out ok, despite both characters having issues and secrets, the ex blasts back into her life and throws everything on its head.
This is a well-developed story and I liked that they didn’t just jump into bed together and declare their undying love for each other. There is a lot of humour in their interactions and I love Brooklyn’s humour and sassy attitude! She is also not one of these whiny, “I wanna throw my kindle at the wall” frustrating females that you often find and her more mature attitude quite impressed me!
Logan is really intrigued by Brooklyn and he has his own past too. This coupled with the re-appearance of Brooklyn’s ex throws a real curveball in the book and leaves us with a total OMG you didn’t just end the book there moment at the end!
This gets a fab four stars from me!
