Synopsis
The calm before the storm…
I lived in the quiet stillness.
I felt the wind rustle, warning me, telling me to get out of its path.
But I didn’t.
I never stood a chance.
A series of weather and road mishaps leaves me trapped in the middle of a blizzard with a complete stranger. In the back of a pickup truck. For forty-eight freakin’ hours.
A stranger with long hair, tattoos, and rippling with muscle.
A stranger with an insanely sexy voice and a wicked smile that turned my insides to jelly.
A stranger who held me in his arms, calmed me, and then set a fire in me that I couldn’t put out.
Storm lives up to his name. Beautiful. Dangerously inviting. Tumultuous. Dark. A clash of hot and cold.
He’s used to getting everything he wants.
And now he wants me.
Some people chase storms for the beautiful thrill. What happens when the storm chases you?
It has been a few days since i finished reading Storm and I can tell this has been a fantastic read because although I’m three or four books further down the line I am still swooning over this story!
Evie, damaged and struggling through life, finds herself lost and stranded in a huge blizzard with a stranger. A stranger who initially scares her and is totally unlike anyone she knows. He is intriguing and in a definite case of first impressions aren’t always what they seem, Evie and Storm embark on a journey of self discovery for both of them.
I don’t want to write spoilers in to this review so I am going to have to pick carefully through the story line but needless to say not only is Storm not the man Evie thinks he looks to be, but he is also hiding something bigger.
Storm is pretty transparent in a way and you can see him from the moment he meets Evie that he is falling for her. He has suffered in the past too and has his own demons to chase (with the help of Evie) And he falls for her harder than even he realises is possible. His life is complicated and their potential path to love is also muddied by the fact that Evie is also committed to someone else.
They spend two nights stuck in Storms truck after a wreck causes them to be stranded miles form anywhere during a vicious snow storm. Without the impact of real life the connect and neither of them can really understand what is happening. It is pretty endearing because you sense that everything they are feeling is so new to both of them. It is also a fantastic path for Evie to begin to rid herself of her last and be able to move on.
I fell for Storm hard too. He is a powerful male leading character and although he has two sides (again no spoilers – sorry!) his “real side” is what he shows to Evie and he is so comfortable bing himself inner presence, There are a few scenes with is family too that really warmed my heart and his Mum in particular was a fantastic addition as a side character too!
And oh my goodness if you only read this book for the fact that there are two pretty loveable side characters there too in the form of Halo and Niko. Loved these two!
I have really loved this book and cannot wait for more from this series!!! It is a full standalone and the ending does not leave you hanging. It was a fantastic read that I managed to finish in one sitting and can say, even now I’m still feeling satisfied!
This is definitely getting a 5 Star review from me!
Meet The Author
I have a passion for the bad boys, those covered in tattoos, sexy smirks, ripped jeans, fast cars, motorcycles and of course, the sweet girls that try to tame them and win their hearts. My debut series, Ashes & Embers, follows the lives of rock band members as they find, and sometimes lose, the loves of their lives.
My first novel in the Ashes & Embers series, Storm, was published in September of 2014.
Born and raised a Jersey girl, I now reside in beautiful New Hampshire with my husband and our multitude of furry pets and spend most of my time writing, reading, and vacuuming.
*Storm has a HEA and is book 1 of the Ashes & Embers series but all books can be read as a stand-alone. No cliffhangers. Vandal (book 2) coming in January 2015.
